Without getting too verbose and annoying: music is the best, right? It’s better than movies, books, beer, and most of your friends. We live in this weird, lucky time when the mindblowing pervasiveness of the internet has completely changed the way we interact with every kind of art, and it’s people like Dave at IYMI and Dan at Square Up who recognize those changes and adapt in ways that keep the punk side of art exciting, vital, viable, and accessible. We are stoked to be a part of something we all believe in beyond just some songs, some records, and some money changing hands, and we appreciate those people believing in us.

We’ve been working really hard to get the new Junior Battles 7″ available for the release show this Friday, March 5, 2010 at Sneaky Dee’s (College & Bathurst in Toronto, ON) with This Is A Stand Off. We’re pumped to let you guys know that not only is the record now available in our webstore on both green with white vinyl as well as marbled grey vinyl but from now until March 14, 2010 you can order the record along with a limited Junior Battles shirt, Brights - Heartbreakers E.P. and Carry The Torch: A Tribute to Kid Dynamite for only $25 (plus shipping, of course). We have been having a few issues with our computers so we have not been able to properly sort out/upload a picture of the aforementioned shirt; one will be coming up really soon though. Honest!

We’re really pumped that Atlernative Press chose our boys to be in the 100 Bands issue! If I’m not mistaken this should be available on news stands for your reading pleasure on Tuesday, March 2!

Lastly, the wonderful people at PunkNews will be posting up a stream the Junior Battles 7″ so that you can listen to it before you buy it and subsequently fall in love with it! Once we have the link for the stream we will post it up for you!

It has been a minute since we have updated; and we apologize.

You may or may not have heard but No Harm Done broke up a couple months a go. As a result, Square Up will no longer be putting out the No Harm Done split with Static Radio NJ. We are really bummed about this. So it goes. Square Up Records would like to wish our friends in No Harm Done the best of luck with their future endeavors.

On a more positive note,  Square Up Records is happy to announce that we are currently working with Junior Battles (Black Pint Records / JuiceBox Recording Co.) to bring to all of you a (yet to be titled) 7″ of 4 new songs available on colored vinyl. For those of you who don’t have turntable we have 2 things to say to you…1) Shame on you, and 2) a digital version will also be made available.

The Junior Battles 7″ will be available Spring 2010. In the interim we have posted two unmastered songs for all of you to hear to get you as excited as we are for this release! CHECK THEM OUT HERE!!

We assure you that it won’t take 3-4 months for our next update. HONEST!

As I’m sure some of you may have noticed, information on our third release has gone up in our webstore.

Square Up Records is pleased to announce that we are getting set to release a split 7″ with two of the best melodic hardcore punk bands today; No Harm Done (FL) and Static Radio NJ (NJ). Each are gracing the release with a brand new original jam and a cover; No Harm Done covering 7 Seconds and Static Radio NJ covering ALL.

We will be releasing details on colours and pre-orders really soon!

I just got an email from my pals No Harm Done who are out on tour with our pals Static Radio and while basically being as far away from their home state of New Jersey, their transmission died in Mesa, AZ.
